Shahsavan textile collection
This rare antique textile made in either the 18th and 19th century. The name Shahsavan is applied to a group of several Turkic-speaking tribes that live mostly in north-western Iran.
It is mounted on a neutral backing, so can be hung on a wall, like a painting. It can be easilyu framed. Textiles on walls absorb background sound.
It is a flatweave and the design has a wonderful sense of motion. and alluring colours. The dyes are all natural and have mellowed beautifully.
